Barnsley Squash and Racketball Club

PLEASE NOTE THESE RULES ARE EFFECTIVE FROM 8am MONDAY 14th SEPTEMBER

Covid-19 controls and procedures to protect the health of members and their families – v2

1. Courts must be booked by the use of personal equipment (phones and tablets). The booking screen at the club will not be in use.

2. By booking a court, it is deemed that members have read and will follow these controls and procedures

3. Members may book or play more than once per day. But, there must be at least a one hour gap between courts and the members must not stay in the club between games.

4. A maximum of two people allowed per court session. No further players allowed to play, even if they are standing off court, i.e. No “Threes”. Any booking showing three or more names will be cancelled.

5. When booking, the name of both players must be entered, to allow track and tracing. If solo practice, add “solo” as the other player. Guests not allowed. Any booking that is not done in this manner will be cancelled

6. Do not come to the club if you are unwell and/or showing any Covid symptoms.

7. If you develop Covid symptoms and test positive after being at the club, inform Nigel Godwin (07812513417) immediately, so track and trace can be implemented.

8. Arrive at the club in your playing kit (except footwear).

9. Changing/showering facilities are available after playing, but only 2 people maybe in the changing room at any time. The showers and changing rooms can only be used for 10 minutes to allow the next set of players to enter. Please wipe down touch points and benches after use.

10. Sanitise your hands on arrival and exit.

11. Bring your own towel and water bottle. These are to be kept on court as you are not to exit the court in-between games.

12. Place any personal belongings on court or by the court door.

13. Avoid wiping hands or other parts of the body on the walls of the court.

14. Do not shake hands and avoid other contact, maintaining social distancing as appropriate.

15. “Full court” games can only take place between people, who belong in the same registered squash bubble or are in a “household” bubble. Please follow the “Full court” guidance from EnglandSquash.

16. If players are not in the same bubble, games can only take place in an EnglandSquash approved manner - Solo practice, supervised coaching, Sides games. Please read/watch the EnglandSquash advice.

17. No spectators are allowed. The only people to enter the club are the named players.

18. If you are found to be in breach of these Covid secure controls and procedures, your membership will be suspended for up to 12 months


Please remember that we have to follow these guidelines to be able to play Squash or Racketball.

Changing Room and Shower use at Barnsley Squash and Racketball Club

The changing rooms and showers are only to be used after playing, NOT before

Only 2 members in each changing room at any time

These members must be part of the same squash bubble or be members of the same household

There is a 10 minute window to be showered, changed and leave the club. This is to allow the next set of players to use the changing room
Please wipe down touch points and the benching after use.

The doors will be propped open and are not to be closed

If the 10mins is not adhered to, the changing rooms may have to close again

Not receiving Email Newsletters?

  • Login and check you email address is correct.
  • Contact Us if you changed your email address.
  • Check you spam/junk folders (and mark the message as "not spam/junk" if you find it there).

  • Go to Gmail Settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses. If "Barnsley Squash Club <barnsleysquashclub@no-reply.mycourts.co.uk>" appears in the list of blocked addresses, select "Barnsley Squash Club <barnsleysquashclub@no-reply.mycourts.co.uk>" and click "unblock selected addresses".

Other email service providers may have similar settings -- please follow their instructions. If not, contact their support desk and request delivery of messages from barnsleysquashclub@no-reply.mycourts.co.uk.
